The Full Story

La Terraza was founded in 2016 in City Terrace by family friend Carlos Barrios with a simple goal, provide the community with a place to gather and enjoy delicious drinks and food.  In February of 2020, Alberto “Beto” Juarez and his wife Cynthia, inspired by their travels and love for family and community, brought some of the LA coffee culture along with Beto’s family’s legacy of making and serving delicious food, to the South Bay.
Beto, a second generation restaurateur, and Cynthia were both born and raised in the South Bay and attended Bishop Montgomery High School and Los Angeles Harbor College.  Beto later earned his Bachelor of Architecture Degree from Cal Polytechnic University Pomona and in 2007 he co-founded Novum Architecture, Inc. Cynthia earned her MSW from USC and continues to work in the field of Social Work.

La Terraza Redondo Beach (LTRB) opened just six weeks prior to the COVID-19 global pandemic shut-down. With the generous support from the South Bay community and their visitors, LTRB reopened in June 2020.  Beto’s family favorite recipes passed down from generation to generation have been incorporated into Carlos' already delicious menu, such as Grandma Josie & Tia Mona’s Tamales, and his Dad’s (Mario) salsa.  As a family oriented establishment, Beto and Cynthia along with their daughter Samantha, strive to provide the South Bay and its visitors with a special experience.  Bienvenidos!
