Our Story

It all began in 2016 when family friend Carlos Barrios opened La Terraza City Terrace with a simple goal in mind, “provide the community with a place to gather and enjoy delicious drinks and food.”

Four years later, Alberto “Beto” Juarez a second generation restaurateur and his wife Cynthia opened La Terraza Redondo Beach (LTRB) just six weeks prior to the COVID-19 global pandemic shut-down. With the generous support from our South Bay community and its visitors, LTRB reopened in June 2020.

Born + raised in the South Bay, we attended Bishop Montgomery High School and Los Angeles Harbor College before earning our degrees at Cal Polytechnic University Pomona and USC.

LTRB is sprinkled with our love for travel, baseball, family, community wellness and our Mexican culture.

Beto’s family favorite recipes passed down from generation to generation have been incorporated into Carlos' already delicious menu, such as Grandma Josie & Tia Mona’s Tamales, and his Dad’s (Mario) salsa.

Visit us and find LA-based street artist WRDSMTH mural “You are here. This is now. Enjoy every moment” on our wall, capturing the here + now of La Terraza Redondo Beach experience.

¡Esperamos verte aquí! We hope to see you here!

With gratitude,

Cynthia & Beto
